Used originally in the shape of a mallet by Irish countrymen for protection, the history of Blackthorn wood is rich in Irish tradition. The beech wood handle is stained a vibrant shade of Kelly Green and is adorned with a laser engraved shamrock for extra luck. The Blackthorn shaft is full of character with it's natural knotty appearance. The handle and shaft of the cane are joined with a wide brass collar which pairs nicely with the green handle and dark shaft.
These blackthorn shafts are crafted by nature and no two are alike. The Small/Medium shafts tend to be thinner in diameter and the Medium/Large tend to be thicker in diameter.
The Small/Medium size has a 16mm tip and is designed for people under 180lbs, while the Medium/Large size has a 22mm tip and can support people up to 250lbs.
